IEEE Fellow 2022

The worldwide professional association of engineers IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering) 
has Prof. Dr. Thomas Stieglitz from the Institute for Microsystems Technology appointed Fellow in the year 2022. 
This is the highest level of membership in the association and is awarded annually to individual IEEE members 
by a selection committee. The election as IEEE Fellow is an award for extraordinary achievements in the field 
of technological research and development for mankind, each year only 0.1% of the active association members 
can be appointed as Fellows.

Prof. Dr. Stieglitz receives his appointment for his research in the field of flexible neural interfaces and micro-
implants, some of which are already used in human medicine.
