Abstract:

The use of lasers in materials processing has been largely developed for industrial applications over the last decades. At the same time, laser processing requirements are becoming more complex, with even greater challenges towards quality and productivity. The presentation will highlight some of the recent developments in laser processing across scales – from micro to macro. Applications in cutting, welding, surface structuring and additive manufacturing will be addressed.
